Meet the committee,say hello.
The Committee
Meet your committee, we are a very dedicated team of individuals, our sole purpose is to make The Bull Terrier Club the best it can possibly be – for the health and wellbeing of all Bull Terriers and to support the interest of all its members.
We meet on average around 8 times a year, although we speak regularly, often on a daily basis – working hard to make everything, including the very prestigious Trophy Show run like clockwork.
We are always available to say hello or listen to any suggestions you may have, drop us an email or have a friendly chat at the next event.
Tyrone Probert — General Committee
Hello My Name is Tyrone Probert.
Growing up in the Welsh Valleys, it seemed that everyone owned a Bull Terrier. As I got older, I came to realise that many of those dogs had come from one man. Mr. Bill Morgan of the world-famous Maerdy Bull Terriers. That early exposure left a lasting impression, and it wasn’t long before the Breed became a central part of my life.
After spending two years attending shows just as a spectator, gaining up as much knowledge as I could about the Breed. I took the plunge in 1993 at the age of 26 and purchased my first Bull Terrier as a Pet. That was it, I had been bitten by the bug. Within six months, I had added two more to my home and was fully immersed in the world of Bull Terriers.
Eager to learn and contribute, I began attending as many shows as possible, and handling for as many people as possible.
In 1996, I was honoured to be invited to join the Committee of the Bull Terrier Club of Wales. Now, 29 years later, I proudly serve as The Chairman.
That same year, in the February my affix was granted, and I began breeding and showing under my own kennel name Llanwenarth. Since then, I have bred and owned both UK and International champions.
Some of my most meaningful achievements include:
• Judging appointments in many Countries Worldwide.
I remain an active and dedicated member of the Bull Terrier Community judging, showing, and supporting events whenever & wherever possible. Bull Terriers are not just a hobby they are woven into the fabric of my everyday life. I am married and have two daughters, and our family life is deeply enriched by the presence of these Remarkable Dogs.
For The Love Of The BREED.

Linda McGregor — General Committee
I have served on the Bull Terrier Club Committee since 1994 for approximately 25 years with a couple of breaks in between. It has been my privilege to serve as Vice Chairman and President of the Club. In the late nineties I served for 10 years on The Bull Terrier Club (UK) Welfare Trust and it was an honour to receive the Bull Terrier Club Award of Merit for services to Bull Terriers.
I am currently the Bull Terrier Breed Representative for the Kennel Club Breed Liaison Council and have served for approximately a combined period of 18 years.
On a personal note my husband Danny and I share the affix Merlindan. Bull Terriers have given us so much pleasure and enjoyment during 45 years of judging and breeding, we have made many friends both at home and abroad and I am very thankful for my time in Bull Terriers.

Mark Philips — Chairman
Hi, I'm Mark Phillips and I am honoured to be the Chairman of the Bull Terrier Club committee. I joined the committee of the Bull Terrier Club in 2001 and am one of the longest serving committee members. I have had a number of committee roles over the years as I was the Show Manager for many years and also organised the Bull Terrier Club Trophy Banquet and was Chairman of Selectors.
Myself & my wife Joanna got our first bull terrier in 1982. Our affix is Bullyon. Joan & Brian Kenway from Jobrulu Kennels were great breed mentors and encouraged me to become active on committees and also supported me to start judging. I have been active on committees since the early 90’s and have had many Officer’s roles. I am currently the President of the WEBTC and Chairman of the Southern Miniature Bull Terrier Club. I have judged CCs in Bull Terriers for nearly 30 years and MBTs for over 20 years and have been lucky enough to have judged in many countries around the world. I have also judged the prestigious Regent Trophy, the Ormandy Jug for Bitches and the Sandawana Trophy in the UK for The Bull Terrier Club and I judged Miniature Bull Terriers and Bull Terriers at Crufts in 2020.
We have only bred occasionally over the years but still managed to have great success with 19 UK Bull Terrier & Miniature Bull Terrier champions including Ormandy Jug Bitch winners, Runner-up in the Regent Trophy and a Regent Trophy winner.

Tony Williams — Region 1
My wife and I have owned Bull Terriers for over 30 years. I showed my first Bull Terrier in the early 90's, originally under my own affix of 'Hullabulloo' and bred my first litter in 2003. I met my wife Rachel and we combined our kennels and have shown jointly under the affix of 'Karmara' for the last 20 years. We have travelled through-out the UK and Europe competing dogs at at all levels and making-up several champions.
I also enjoy judging and have judged many Trophies across Europe including – The Hauk Memorial Trophy in Austria, the international Championship show at the Country Competition in Holland and The Pannon Cup in Budapest. Most notably for me, I was asked to judge the Ormandy Jug for dogs at the 2022 UK Trophy show and was a Trophy show selector the following year. I have also been lucky enough to have judged in Chile, New Zealand and Australia. And since 2023 I have been joint Team Captain along with Joy Johnson for the UK Team.
I have previously served as Hon. Secretary and Hon. Editor of the West of England Bull Terrier Club from 2003 to 2010. I joined the Bull Terrier Club Committee in 2023.

Amanda Young — Region 4
Hi I'm Mandy and along with my husband John, we are Bullyview Kennel. We have a strong passion for Bull Terriers. We have been active in the breed since the early 1980’s.
Our first ever Bull Terrier was called “Tina”, whose sire was Ch Hardras Prince Hal. In 1983 we mated her to Ch Rococo Ringleader of Ormandy. It was an exciting time for us and we were very lucky to have received incredibly valued advice from the wonderful Eva Weatherill. We kept a lovely Bitch from that litter and her name was Bella; this was when our show career began.
In 1989 we bred our first Champion, Ch. Bullyview Gentle Breeze, “Pinky” – her sire was Ch. Ghabar The Admiral – the rest is history. We have bred many champions over the years and have successfully competed in the annual Trophies for the last 30 years.
We are also strong advocates of The Bull Terrier Club (UK) Welfare Trust, and I have been a Trustee for a very long time now.
We will both continue to support the breed, and the breed clubs, with as much vigour as we always do and look forward to the showing, to seeing our old friends and meeting new ones too. We also love to help those new to the breed and showing, so please feel free to come up and introduce yourselves and have a chat.

Sean Morris — Region 3
Hi, my name is Sean.
My first experience of Bull Terriers was a rescue girl named Lucy which Dyane and I had when we got our first home together. Lucy was such a lovable quirky character we were soon hooked on Bull Terriers.
Over the years our passion for Bull Terriers grew and we applied to the KC for our Bluepoint affix and began a breeding program which is where my real interests lie. I consider it a great honour to be part of the Bull terrier Club committee, the club, the history, and the BTC members are something to be really proud of.

Maureen E Hughes — Honorary Secretary
With my husband Graham we have been Graymor Bull Terriers & Miniature Bull Terriers since the late 1970’s. Although breeding only one or two litters a year throughout the decades we have had considerable success in the show ring breeding/owning multiple Challenge Certificates winners as well as numerous MBT’s of the year and Breeder of the year accolades.
We were lucky enough to own Ch Kearby’s Mini Maggy of Graymor bred by the late Quita Youatt who for many years was the bitch Challenge Certificate breed record holder. I have award Kennel Club Challenge Certificates many times in both Miniature Bull Terriers and Bull Terriers. Having judged Miniature at Crufts in 2004 and Bull Terriers in 2015. I have also judged three times at the Bull Terrier Club Trophy show and judged extensively in Europe and in the USA including Montgomery and the MBTC of America Van Hildrikhusen Trophy.
In an administrative capacity I have served on various committees and am currently Secretary of the Southern Miniature Bull Terrier Club & West of England Bull Terrier Club and am a general Committee member of The Bull Terrier Club, although my direct involvement with the BTC goes back many years when I assisted Graham who was firstly assistant and then Treasurer of BTC during 1980s & 90’s particularly around the Trophy show when I manned the Clubs stall for many years during one of its most profitable times. I am joint Breed Education Coordinator for BT/MBT which means being heavily involved with the Kennel Clubs Judges Education Programme being an organiser, mentor and assessor of up and coming judges who are aspiring to award CC’s in both breeds.
